About Patriot Bank

Patriot Bank, born from a dream and tremendous entrepreneurial spirit

Patriot Bank traces its roots to First State Bank in Honey Grove, Texas. In January 2005, an investor group led by our Chairman W. Don Ellis acquired the bank, a Texas state-chartered banking association. First State Bank, which was granted its bank charter in 1883, serving the community of Fannin County, Texas. After the acquisition, First State Bank’s name was changed to Patriot Bank. It was the culmination of a great dream and tremendous entrepreneurial spirit. Shortly thereafter, Patriot’s main office was relocated to Houston, Texas. Following a corporate restructuring, Patriot Bank became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Patriot Bancshares, Inc. Patriot has acquired two additional banks since its formation. We also acquired North Street Mortgage, Inc., dba Principal Mortgage Group, which was then renamed Patriot Bank Mortgage, Inc. In addition to acquiring banks and the mortgage company, Patriot Bank has expanded its presence with the opening of new branches. We currently have six branches in the greater Houston area, three branches in Dallas-Fort Worth, and one branch in Fannin County. Patriot provides a full array of deposit and lending services to business and personal banking customers. Our tagline “Beyond the American Dream” represents the tangible goals we have for our customers. Our fundamental purpose is to provide the highest quality personal interaction, great products, and the financial services that help our customers achieve their financial goals and enhance their quality of life. And we will never forget our dream for Patriot Bank and the hard work required to make it happen. It’s why we believe that banking is as much about “hopes and dreams” as it is “dollars and cents.” Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain your Personal Financial Freedom.
